Megan grew up in the theater attending shows and Saturday work calls with her parents at a local high school. As the daughter of a carpenter and an interior designer/architect, becoming a theater artist only seemed natural. Megan's parents encouraged her to pursue art and theater in grade school and supported her applying to college for scenic design.
In May 2017, Megan graduated from James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, VA with a B.A. in Theatre and Dance with an emphasis in Scenic Design. Her second major was through the School of Media Arts and Design where she concentrated in Digital Video and Cinema.
Flash forward to today, Megan is a freelance scenic designer and scenic painter. She works all across the DC/Virginia/Maryland area with a variety of professional and educational theaters. Megan enjoys working with other creatives to tell a dynamic story through compelling stage pictures and creative solutions. She also finds fulfillment in sharing her knowledge with students and seeing them become inspired.
Megan is currently the Interim Technical Director at Adventure Theatre MTC while also designing on their season and continuing to freelance.
